Here we go. The blog post, the first from the inner workings of the marketing department at MedicAnimal. Now as the title suggests I will share our current promotions and issues with various websites, coupon/voucher sites and their inability to fully disclose a promotions terms and conditions.
One of the big issues we have been dealing with lately is the re distribution of coupon codes on various sites. While this is not frowned upon (We like them, they drive some sales), these sites kindly disregard any sort of expiry date and/or the terms and condistions associated with vouchers we issue. (more…)
Cats do not particularly enjoy travelling as they have a strong bond to their own territory and often feel vulnerable when away from home. If you decide to travel with your cat you must ensure he or she is comfortable and secure in an appropriate carrier. Cats must remain confined at the end of a journey until they have bonded with their new territory. This will minimise the risk of the cat wandering off when let outside in an unfamiliar setting. Rehabilitation diets are designed to fulfill your dog’s special nutritional needs. They should be fed as advised by your veterinarian surgeon. It is usually advisable to feed little and often, dividing the daily amount into several portions. (more…)
What is a microchip?
A microchip implant is an identifying integrated circuit (transponder) placed under the skin. The chips are similar in size to a large grain of uncooked rice and are based on a passive RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology. The chip contains a unique code (identification number); this number is registered on The National Register Database and should also be noted down on your dog’s vaccination record. The chip is made of an inert material which means it has no power source and won’t be rejected by your dog’s body. To retrieve your dog’s identification number, a scanner (wand) is passed over their body, this sends out a magnetic field, which picks up the 15 digit code imprinted on the chip. This code shows up automatically on the scanner’s screen; the owner can be identified from this code and be contacted via the computer database. ISO 11784 & 11785 is the international standards that regulate the radio frequency identification (RFID) of animals. (more…)
